Well,Got here late last night,39 miles of 2 lane logging roads,I am glad I had my GPS,doing a little maintance on Karma II today,pretty nice out,will go digging for Diamonds in the morning!!! All my neighbors have little bottles full of stones,should be a good time.

Well,I don't think I made history,but it was fun walking around for a while.

Muddy Mess It Was

Well even the regulars did not come out this week,they have had a lot of rain here,if is wasn't muddy is was hard as a rock from all the clay,plus it hasn't been plowed since thanksgiving.

Simulated diamond find

Well,this is what you are looking for,40 acres of dirt and rocks,the fake diamond here was found panning with water,it was just a piece of quartz,but the rock it is on is Jasmen,it is supposed to have healing powers,so I kept it too.

Diamond Jeff from Texas

Jeff is camping next to me,he and a freind of his,they are United Airline guys,they are very hard at it and take it very seriously,of course I think he found one today,I will know later,on your way out a gemologist checks your findings.

These are all over,along with signs telling you to not bring firearms into the crater,I guess some black bears have been mulling around too.

Well it was only an hour so I thought I would check it out

Bath House Row

There was a hole line of old bath houses where you could get a hot spings bath,pretty cool.

I took a tour of one of the Bath Houses,this was a stained glass ceiling with over 8000 pices of glass over 150 years old.

Spring watering holes

These were all over downtown area,people come from all over to get there water here,the ole gal filling her jug say she has been drinking it for 85 years,it is all free,they must have had 20 gallons or so.

Hot Spring Fountain

There were several of these also,the water comes out at 140 degrees and you can drink right out of the fountain,I tried some,it tasted like hot water.

Railcar Apts....

Well on the way back to my spot I took some back roads by way of GPS an I drove past this but had to turn around to get a double take,yes,yes it is in southern Arkansas,there are about 50 railcars converted to apartments,I did a drive through,I think they filmed "Deliverance" here, peeps started coming out to see who I was,I heard a banjo and took off..ha ha

Well,I made it to the swamps today,it is 80 and muggy,slet like a rock!! There are gators out there beyond the trees.

Well,I decided to go a little further south down to Cameron,this is where Huricane Rita hit,I did not take any pictures fo the devastation,it is just like they show on TV.

Foggy Gulf

Going across the gulf on a ferry,kinda creepy,saw some dolphins jumping around though,kinda cool.

FEMA City

Well,this is a FEMA City,unbeliveable,there must have been over 2000 of these RV's. While driving Rt 27 which is the loop,you see somereally nice houses with all the windows blown out and then a little FEMA trailer in the back where the people still live.

1-15-07 Austin,TX Late

Well,the weather has turned to crap,it is 8pm I just got in to Austin,the city is shut down tonight and tommarow from an ice storm and I have the last spot at the famous Pecan Grove RV Park. This RV park is right downtown Austin,several celebraties have spots here,I think I am parked next to one. The Airstream took a beating too,I will have to check it out in the morning.

Well,on the RV Park sign it says you may check out but never leave,that may be true,Austin is shut down til tommarow at noon,it is 22 degrees here too.

Well,with 4 more days of freezing temps and rain and snow,this dude needed to get out,I made it to Texarkana for the night.

Well so much for going south for the winter,I headed back up where it is warmer,it is a balmy 60 here,will shack up here for a few days.

Well as luck would have it a few freinds happen to be in Memphis this weekend,one was here on business the other entertaining,I was invited to tag along to a new club to evaluate the employees,they all kinda looked like this,which passed the test as far as I was concerned.
